The South African born Countertenor, Daniell Fourie, commenced his musical studies
in piano at Stellenbosch University in 2000. He completed his piano performance
studies in 2003 at the Musikhochschule Lübeck, Northern Germany, after receiving
the DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) Bursary. He is currently studying
piano pedagogy.

His singing career commenced soon after in Lübeck where he sang at the Domkirche.
Fourie studies singing with Miss Ages at the Musikhochschule Lübeck and Mr Jochens
at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg.

Fourie had master classes with Prof Gert Türk at the Scuola Cantorum Basiliensis
in Basel and with Prof Ashley Stafford in London. In 2007 Prof Stafford invited
him to take part in a Mozart Opera Project.

Fourie is the solo vocal member of Ensemble Lamento. The ensemble was founded in
2005 and plays at various liturgical ceremonies throughout the year. The ensemble´s
main focus is on Early Northern German Baroque Music.
