Henrike Kovats was born in South Africa. After completing her studies at Stellenbosch,
she became co-principal of the double bass section of the CTSO and later CTPO. She
held these positions for ten years altogether.

|
Currently she places her emphasis on freelance activities as a chamber musician
and has performed with some of South Africa’s foremost chamber music groups. She
enjoys teaching and has gained a wide reputation in this field over the past fifteen
years.
